my name is Kat
I was born and raised in the Hudson Valley of New York, Mahican territory. I’ve ran through these forests, swam this river and prayed to these land spirits my whole life. I've sat in presence of the whitetail, the wild turkey and even the black bear.
To some, I don't belong here. I've traveled far and wide searching for "home", but the further I went,
the more lost I was...
I missed the oak trees, the wild streams, the black snake. I missed the dandelion, the mugwort, the thunder storms.

I’ve never danced barefoot on the land of my ancestors, perhaps I never will. I never thought of this place as home but as it turns out, it’s the only place I know. And I love it so very much, and it loves me right back.
And that's the wonderful thing about our Mother Earth - when you love her deeply, she loves your right back.

So no matter where you are,
you are always home.

I was initiated a Green Witch by herbalist, author and wise woman Susun Weed in 2018. I believe the most sustainable practice is using the plants that grow abundantly at my feet, rather than endangered species from around the world. My connection to the wild only grows infinitely stronger, summer by summer. I harvest in great reverence, and craft according to ideal planetary alignments, and high holy days of my ancestors. My home is filled with fresh air, house plants, crystals and singing bowls to keep the energy light. All of the herbs I harvest come from the wild or my organic garden however, if I do outsource, it will always be organic and typically from local gardens.

My intention is to serve my community, work to rekindle a deep, remembered connection between women and the earth, create medicines that heal, love my family and bring peace with me wherever I go.

I have recently graduated from the Radical Birth Keeper School in June 2024
and intend to offer classes and gatherings to shift the way we show up for birth in my community.
